Monique Anderson Walker wants to be your choice for District 8 County Council in 2018.   


Born and raised in Southern Prince George's County, Monique has tirelessly supported her community for decades – in areas of economic development, health, education and safety.   

 

Here’s how Monique Walker’s making a difference in District 8!   

  • Among her successes, was helping to bring the Veterans Affairs Medical Center to Prince George's County to better serve those who selflessly served and protected our nation. 
  • While serving on various nonprofit boards, she has helped attract millions of dollars in funding that were directed to workforce development and safety-net services.  
  • Monique has testified at school board meetings to increase pay for teachers, Universal Pre-K for all children and to keep Friendly High School and Skyline Elementary School open.   
  • She has organized and led annual advocacy agenda programs at the Maryland General Assembly in Annapolis for more than a decade, with students, community leaders and passionate citizens joining - meeting with Maryland Governors, Senators, and Delegates to bring attention to bills impacting the health and education of children.  
  • Monique’s health and education advocacy has helped facilitate the passage of 12 bills into law, including the Center for School Safety, and she is prepared to do more.    Monique is passionate, proven, capable and can't wait to serve as your District 8 County Councilwoman.
