Monique Anderson Walker, MSRE*, is the Principal Broker of Fleur de Lis, LLC Commercial Real Estate Brokerage and Development Advisory Services in Oxon Hill, MD. During her 18-year real estate career, she has become known as an effective negotiator in representing international, national and regional corporations with commercial expansions into the metropolitan area.
She facilitated commercial expansions of MV Transit and British-based First Transit into industrial sites for WMATA contracts. She also successfully brought the Veterans Affairs Medical Center Outpatient Clinic to Prince George’s County, MD to anchor an office building that she repositioned to become predominately a medical office facility. Her services have been utilized by medical corporations, dealerships, homebuilders and faith-based associations.
Monique is also committed to promoting, preserving and protecting her community. She has assumed several leadership roles to strengthen the community through The Prince George’s County Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, Community Foundation in Prince George’s County and St. Ann’s Center for Youth, Families and Children. She lends her time and talent into improving the quality of life for students and veterans as well as positively transforming the lives of those who’ve experienced incarceration. She also has helped facilitate workforce training and safety net support for families in need.
Her leadership as co-chair since 2008 of Links at the Legislature, sponsored by the Prince George’s County Links has brought her many accolades for planning a day for representatives from all segments of the population to advocate for health and education bills positively impacting the lives of children in the State of Maryland. The efforts over the past decade have led to 12 House Bills being passed into law including the Center for School Safety and Sex Trafficking Legislation. The daylong program has received recognition from the Maryland General Assembly, and has been awarded Best Practices within The Links, Incorporated.
Monique Walker holds a Master of Science Degree in Real Estate Development from Johns Hopkins University; a Master of Arts Degree in Political Science from Howard University; and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Studies from Emory University.
Mrs. Walker is married to The Honorable Jay Walker and they reside in Fort Washington, MD with their three children.
